Jerome Holloway is a soul singer-songwriter born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Family is his prime inspiration; the voices of his mother and sister constantly influence his often somber tunes. He was first exposed to music in church choirs which, according to Holloway, “can often be a show anyway.” Holloway took this background to Chicago for a few years and eventually to Los Angeles where he currently resides. He was looking for a change of pace and a fresh start; he found this in the ocean, the mountains, and the bombast of LA.
Holloway writes about love, loss, race, and prejudice, all set to jazzy chords and soulful runs. Hear him croon with the percussive help of friend and collaborator, Charles Rumback, on Audiotree Live.
